Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson to host 5th Annual Remarkable Citizens Awards ceremony in Teeswater

Blyth – Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thomson wants you to help shine the spotlight on remarkable citizens in your community.

The 5th Annual Remarkable Citizens Awards evening will be hosted by MPP Lisa Thompson during her annual New Year’s Levee event, which will take place at the Teeswater Town Hall on the evening of January 4, 2017 (if necessary, the snow date will be January 11, 2017).

Each year, the Remarkable Citizens Awards are handed out to respected and dedicated community leaders, volunteers and residents who have made inspiring contributions within the riding of Huron-Bruce.

“I am always so amazed by the efforts made by the volunteers in our communities who work tirelessly to make Huron-Bruce such a desirable place to live, work and grow,” says MPP Thompson. “I look forward to honouring even more citizens from our riding this year.”

The annual event has become a tradition for MPP Thompson, and has grown over the last few years. 2017 will mark the 5th anniversary. Last year, 13 residents from across the riding were celebrated by their colleagues and neighbours, friends and families as Remarkable Citizens.

Anyone interested in nominating a member of their community for a Remarkable Citizen Award is asked to contact Stephanie at stephanie.lowe@pc.ola.org with their name and contact information, as well as the name and contact information of the individual being nominated. Nominations should also include three photos of the nominee, and a brief 250 word statement detailing why they should be recognized. Nominations can also be mailed to or dropped off at either the Blyth or Kincardine constituency offices.

“I am so pleased to have the opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions of individuals from Huron-Bruce,” says MPP Thompson. “It has become a tradition and sets such a positive tone in the community as we start the New Year.”
