Statement from Ontario PC Environment Critic on Liberal Cabinet Shuffle

The following is a statement from PC Environment and Cap-and-Trade Critic and MPP for Huron-Bruce Lisa Thompson on the Liberal cabinet shuffle today:

“Today’s Cabinet shuffle is yet another sad attempt by this government to distract Ontarians from 13 long years of Liberal scandal, waste and mismanagement.

“The Cabinet may have a few new faces, but we all know it’s still the same old Liberal government.

“This is the same Liberal government that remains under five OPP investigations and is pushing a tax-and-spend agenda that’s made life more unaffordable for families and left the province deep in debt.

“After racking up Ontario’s debt to more than $300 billion, Kathleen Wynne has now appointed the largest provincial Cabinet in all of Canada.

“Ontario’s third largest expense is paying the interest on the provincial debt, which costs taxpayers nearly $12 billion every year.

“That’s money that could be spent on improving education and delivering better health care. But the Liberals would rather increase the size of government and spend more on themselves.

“Ontarians need and deserve a government that will be responsible with their money and restore accountability at Queen’s Park.”
