Thompson Celebrates Small Business Day

(Queen’s Park)—Lisa Thompson, PC Critic for Small Business and Red Tape is proud to support small businesses and their contributions to Ontario’s economy by celebrating Small Business Day today.

“Small business is the backbone of Ontario’s economy, and I appreciate the hard work and devotion of these entrepreneurs. Our economy could not thrive without their dedication.”

Thompson has a background in small business, as she grew the Ontario Dairy Goat Co-operative out of her home, and cultivated the Teeswater-based business to a multi-million dollar province-wide success story. “I know first-hand that small business owners in this province face many challenges, including unnecessary government regulations and taxes that add delays and additional costs to businesses.”

Thompson has been active meeting with small business owners will be travelling across Ontario to hear ways to make small business a driving economic force again. “I encourage small businesses to bring me examples of excessive regulation and red tape that is impeding their business and I will work to reduce these burdens.”

Thompson also supports fellow PC MPP Garfield Dunlop’s Private Member’s Bill to stop the new College of Trades Business Tax.

“We must eliminate unnecessary regulations and taxes on business to ensure they are able to grow and thrive. Together with my Leader Tim Hudak and the entire PC Caucus, I will stand up for small business in Ontario.”
